Present: Doris and Ron Frazer, Sue and Bob Gibbs, Joan LaComb and Paul McGrath, Judy Lowell, Dorothy and Bill Mein, Susan and Bob Meyer, Cathy and Bill Petersen, Buckley Riggs.
Meeting was called to order at 7:50 pm. Paul said thank you for electing us - we are thinking about moving to California. Bill Petersen said that there are no recalls in the ski club election.
A discussion on ski club dues followed. It was decided to keep the dues at $5.00 per person or $10.00 per couple. In celebration of this fiscal prudence all ski club members present at the meeting promptly paid. Doris and Ron Frazer had left early and so missed out on the rush to pay. The amount collected from 5 couples and two singles was $60.00, bringing the financial balance to $184.87.
Crystal and Bill Hayman have decided to resign from the club.
Birthday wishes were bestowed on Doris Frazer for her 80th birthday, and congratulations went to Cathy and Bill Petersen on their 33rd wedding anniversary.
Dorothy and Bill Mein were thanked for hosting the October meeting, and Joan was thanked for calling.
Carolyn and Gene Kaczka volunteered to host the Thanksgiving meeting either on November 15 or 22 - with the club members showing an overwhelming support for the later date. (Note: Ultimately the Kaczka’s responded with a date even closer to Thanksgiving of November 23). Dorothy Mein and Sue Gibbs offered to perform the calling duties.
Volunteers for the Christmas meeting were sought - where it was decided to delay this to allow the ski club members time to think about hosting this particularly joyous occasion.
Russ and Heather have volunteered to host the January cross-country skiing, soup and sandwich meeting. They have a new and improved trail. Paul said he did not yet have a date for this meeting - Joan broke in and said she would go with him.
Bob Meyer discussed the La Petite Rouge February trip. Dates are February 6 through 8. Two cabins were reserved for 8 couples. The cost was set at CD$159 per person, deposit US$22 per person or US$44 per couple - due by mid October.
Joan gave a pre-season ski trivia quiz to motivate the ardent skiers in our midst. The meeting went down hill from there, culminating in Joan telling a humorous ski story involving ski bums and broken limbs. The quiz and joke are attached to (the hard copy of) these minutes. (For the sake of brevity these items will not be re-read at the November 23 meeting).
There being no more items for discussion the meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm.
