Present: Dave & Tellie Bray, Bob & Ellen Burns, Ron & Doris Frazer, Bob & Sue Gibbs, Judy Lowell, Bill & Dorothy Mein, Bob & Shirley Metcalf, Bob & Susan Meyer, Russ Nelson, and Buckley Riggs.

Gene & Carolyn have gone to David and Robin's this weekend as their daughter-in-law is expecting a baby any time now. In the absence of our officers, Dorothy agreed to conduct the meeting.

It was hard to silence the group in order to start the meeting, especially with Dorothy sitting behind Ron and talking through his head. Sue Meyer came to the rescue and Aquietly@ yelled for the meeting to start. It also helped that Ron moved his chair over so Dorothy could be seen and heard. A few items that Dorothy mentioned follow.

The November meeting will be held at Trish and Bill Lewis' home in Canton on Sunday, November 17, 5:00 p.m. Trish will cook a turkey and Sue Gibbs and Sue Meyer agreed to do the calling.

The December meeting will be held at Shirley and Bob Metcalf's home, on Sunday, December 15, 5:00 p.m. Because we are having turkey in November, Shirley will cook a ham, which everyone agreed would be nice. Shirley will do the calling.

Dorothy will get calling lists to the two Sues and Shirley.

The January cross-country ski and soup & sandwich meeting will be held at the Nelsons again this year. Russ will check with Heather, but he tentatively set the dates up for January 12th, with the 19th as an alternate. Even if there isn't any snow on the 19th, we will still have the meeting. Sue Meyer felt that picking the 19th was a good date, and if that didn't work out, we could meet on the 12th. Everyone picked that right up and were more than willing to let Sue know it didn't work that way; that the 12th came before the 19th, not the other way around. Of course, Sue was just seeing if everyone was paying attention B they were!

The usual time for skiing at the Nelson's is 2:00, with soup and sandwich meeting at 4:00 p.m. Russ will check the dates, etc., out with Heather and confirm at the next meeting.

Dorothy then passed on Carolyn's note that although dues are usually collected at this meeting, she would start collecting them at the November meeting. Because Bob Burns was so upset and disappointed that he couldn't pay his dues at this meeting, Dorothy made an exception and thought she'd better collect Bob's dues before he changed his mind. He was fast at putting his money back in his pocket, but when Dorothy mentioned, AMaybe Bob didn't trust her to turn his money over to the Treasurer,@ he reluctantly gave over his $10.00 for Ellen and his dues. This definitely is a milestone in Bob's life as well as the history of the Club, because Bob has never been the first one to pay his dues. If anything, he sometimes has been a year or two late, and most often than not, the last one to pay. Was this a fluke or is Bob changing his ways? On the other hand, we didn't have the books, so maybe Bob was really paying last year's dues.

Bob Meyer then talked about the ski trip to LaPetite Rouge. The dates this year are January 31, February 1 and 2. Bob only reserved two cabins for this year, because we weren't able to fill the three last year. One cabin is full, consisting of the Meyers, Meins, Buchanans and Nagels. The other cabin has three rooms full (Buckley, Nelsons and Gibbs) with room for one more couple. Bob will contact the Kaczkas, Lewises and then the Batsons to see if anyone is interested in going. He then collected the $20.00 (American) for each person going. The total cost this year per person went up some to the amount of $157.59 (Canadian) each. After one deducts their deposit, each person will owe $115.03 Canadian; that is, if Dorothy got all these figures straight.

Bob then mentioned that their son, David, is very interested in downhill skiing and if anyone wanted to organize a downhill ski trip to Mt. Tremblaunt or elsewhere, they would be interested in going. Shirley mentioned that they didn't do one last year because there wasn't the interest, but she would get information to Bob where they stay, etc.

Dorothy then mentioned that she thought Dave Bray had something to say. However, by the look on Dave's face after she said that, it was obvious he wasn't about to say anything and then asked Dorothy what she thought he would say, because he never speaks out at meetings. Of course, what Dorothy thought he would say is:
