Minutes of the Business Meeting

Potsdam Apres Ski Club
Saturday, October 27, 2001
Hosts: Sue and Bob Gibbs

Present: Dave & Tellie Bray, Joe & Jutta Fitzsimmons, Doris & Ron Frazer, Bob & Sue Gibbs, Joan LaComb & Paul McGrath, Bill and Trish Lewis, Bill and Dorothy Mein, Bob & Susan Meyer, Russ Nelson, Bill & Cathy Petersen, and Buckley Riggs.

The gathering started with hors d'oeuvres, followed by dinner, and then the meeting.

President Russ read the minutes from the May meeting, as well as reading the names of people who had paid up their dues. He also reminded all others that $10.00 a couple was due. Russ is keeping track of who pays their dues.

The next order of business brought up by Russ was where to have the November meeting. Susan and Bob Meyer volunteered to have it at their home on Saturday, November 17th at 6:00 p.m. They will fix the turkey and the dressing. The callers, Sue Gibbs and Joan LaComb will solicit the rest of the dinner.

Bob Meyer talked about LaPetite Rouge. Two large cabins and one small cabin was reserved last year, but Bob felt the small cabin would have to be released as there wasn't enough people to fill all three cabins. To date, the following people have signed up to go to LaPetite Rouge the first weekend in February: Bruce & Linda Buchanan, Bob & Sue Gibbs, Bill & DorothyMein, Bob & Susan Meyer, Barb & Jay Nagel, Heather & Russ Nelson, and Buckley Riggs. Bob will check with the Northrops to see if they are available and would like to go. Bob also mentioned that another room in one of the cabins could be filled by his son and a friend. Bob needs the $20.00 (US funds) down payment from everyone by Monday. The balance is to be paid when each person arrives at LaPetite on February 1st, which is $155.00 (Canadian cash) per adult. Besides the cabin, this includes Friday dinner, 3 meals on Saturday as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Some felt if you needed skis or other equipment, you could borrow them without any extra charge; at least this was the case in past years.

Doris Frazer brought a nice brochure from Mt. Tremblaunt that she shared with everyone.

Dorothy mentioned that if a donation was going to be given to an organization again this year that it would be nice, instead of donating to the same organization each time, to donate to different ones, such as Hospice. The group felt Hospice was a very good choice, but that there wouldn't be enough money to donate every year and we should wait until the end of the year to see how much money is left before donating. Discussion was tabled.

The Gibbs were thanked for hosting the October meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Dorothy Mein
