The Business Meeting

The November meeting was held at the Partch's. Those present included Bill and Dorothy Mein, Bob and Sue Gibbs, Russ and Heather Nelson, Doris and Ron Frazer, Bill and Trish Lewis, Judy Lowell, Gene and Carolyn Kaczka, Marta Szoke, Buckley Riggs, Dick and Joanne Partch, Paul McGrath and Joan LaComb, and Bob and Susan Meyer.

The evening started with munchies and proceeded to a delicious turkey dinner. (At least we presume it started with munchies, the Meyer's were fashionably late - arriving just in time to eat.)

After dinner, the meeting was called to order - and a short meeting was advertised. Dick and Joanne were thanked for their hospitality and for the wonderful turkey. Thanks, too, to Joan LaComb for calling everyone. The minutes were read, and for the first time in recent memory, there was a correction! Dick noted that Joanne does need Dick. Otherwise we wouldn't have had gravy to eat with our turkey. The secretary was duly chastised for her errors in observation (though no one said anyone was left off the list of attendees for October).

Discussion turned to the January meeting. Since there are hockey games on the 8th and the 15th, the ski, soup, and sandwich day will be held at the Nelson's on Saturday the 22nd. Weather date is the 29th. Come to ski at 2PM and for soup and sandwiches at 4:00.

On the ski trips, everything is set for Petite Rouge the first weekend of February, and there has not been a lot of interest expressed in a downhill trip as yet. The discussion was punctuated with wails of grief over Clarkson's hockey woes. Bill Lewis wasn't too unhappy, though.

We saw some faces from the past. Trish and Bill shared some pictures of Mark and Darcy Koch and their daughter Anna and also showed us pictures of Ed and Peggy Stevens. Somehow it doesn't seem fair - Ed and Peggy look just the same as they did years ago!

With a dearth of new business on the table, Bob went over the rules for the annual ornament exchange that will be held in December. It will all be repeated in December (we'll forget again by then). The meeting ended with the usual call for dues. Ron Frazer offered to pay dues with one of the new $5 bills. Since they are still on the drawing boards, we accepted the normal $10 from him.
