| We are ready for the Meeting Dorothy! |
President Bill started the meeting out by proclaiming it
would be a Dave Bray meeting - short!!
The Brays were thanked for hosting the meeting, and Joan and Susan were thanked for doing the calling.
Bill Petersen mentioned that the Fitzsimmons will be
celebrating their 25th Anniversary on Tuesday. Congratulations from the club were extended.
Bob Meyer reported that LaPetite is all set. He received confirmation from
Suzanne. Have 3 cabins full, with a waiting list of 2 people: Buckley and
Carolyn.
Gabor is working on setting up the Mt. Tremblaunt ski trip for the weekend of March 26-28th. He will contact the Haymans and Kears. Also, at this time, the Partches, Metcalfs, and Fitzsimmons said they would be interested. Gabor will look into a middle-of-the-line rate for lodging and report back at the December meeting.
The Brays shared a map of the cross-country ski trails at
Garnet Hill, located in N. River, NY, near Gore Mountain. The Lewises and Kaczkas were familiar
with it and said it was a wonderful place to ski. It would not be as expensive as Mt.
Tremblaunt, but more than La Petite. Trish will look into costs of lodging, what dates are
available, etc., and report back to the group at the December meeting. At this time, we can
discuss whether or not there is interest in a trip there this year.
Heather mentioned Russ needs to groom the trails a little more, and then the Nelsons will be all set for the January cross-country ski, soup and sandwich meeting.
A call for dues was made. Dave Bray fessed up that the Burns paid last year's dues in May to Dave, and he forgot to turn it into the treasury. After Tellie purchased the turkey for dinner, Dave figured he owed the treasury $2.00 to cover their dues and the Burns. Then, he never did give the treasury his 2 cents (I mean $2.00)...
Because the Burns pay their dues in May, the 1997-98 ski club year must have been a good one because Bob always waits until the end to make sure he gets his money's worth before paying.
The next meeting will be on Sunday, December 13th, 4:30 p.m., at Cathy & Bill Petersen's. Everyone was reminded to bring an ornament for the exchange and time will tell whether or not the Throops will recycle their broken arm skier that they got last year.
Sue Gibbs and Carolyn Kaczka volunteered to call for the December meeting. Dorothy gave them the calling lists.

Adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Dorothy Mein
