Minutes of the Business Meeting

Potsdam Après Ski Club
Saturday November 12, 2005
Hosts: Shirley and Bob Metcalf

Attendees were:

Tellie & Dave Bray, Doris & Ron Frazer, Judy Lowell, Joan & Paul McGrath, Shirley & Bob Metcalf, Joanne & Dick Partch, Cathy & Bill Petersen, Marta Szoke and Sandy & Mel Tomalty.

The meeting was called to order by Shirley Metcalf.

Treasurer Report:

On January 16, 2005 of $41.83
On September 10, 2005 Dues were received $97.50
On October 3, 2005 a check for $80.00 was given to Dick Partch for lamb & Charcoal etc.
As of October 3, 2005 the Balance was $59.33
October 8, 2005, $45 dues received
November 12, 2005, $30 dues received, $13.26 paid to Metcalfs for the Thanksgiving Turkey
November 12, 2005 new balance is $121.07

It was stated that dues would be gratefully accepted.

Under Old business:

Cathy and Bill Petersen will host the Christmas party on Saturday, December 10th at 5:00 pm. Everyone was reminded to bring a wrapped Christmas Tree Ornament (around $10) for the exchange.

Folks commented that of course we would sing the 12 days of Christmas, along with other festive songs.
Ron Frazer was kind enough to sing a sample of what we could expect on December 10th.
His wonderful voice rang clear “Five Golden Rings”

The callers for this meeting will be Joanne Partch and Joan McGrath.

Under new business:

The Metcalfs are organizing 2 ski trips this year:

TRIP ONE:

The Smuggler’s Notch trip to Burlington Vermont will be on January 13, 14 and 15. The following people are booked at the Anchorage Inn (special low rate) to Attend the Snow Party Event:

• Sandy and Mel Tomalty

You don’t have to ski, you can shop (Mall across the street), eat (5 Restaurants in walking distances) , and drink (Happy Hour by the pool and Jacuzzi).

It would be great just to get together as a group and have some fun.

TRIP TWO:

White face Mountain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd, 4th and 5th. Once again we have a motel where we can get reasonable rates. There is NO pool at the North Pole at White face but it is located close to the mountain. However, we could stay in Lake Placid instead if we get some folks who just want to have a pool, shop and relax.

Bob and Sue Meyer and son David are interested in the Whiteface trip, so are Will and Cathy Mitchell. We will discuss this meeting again at the January meeting.

Heather and Russ Nelson plan on Ski Club cross country meeting at their house on Saturday, January 21st with January 28th as a backup “lack of snow” date.

We have no meeting in February. Who would like to volunteer for April meeting or the Derby Day meeting?
