Thanksgiving Dinner Meeting at Joanne and Dick Partch's
November 20, 2004

A Great Meeting.

It's Turkey Time

At this busy time of year some members had other commitments.
The group was not its usual size.

For you members that missed this meeting -- Eat Your Heart Out!
Was it good? Stupid question.
Thanks Dick!

The meeting was called to order by Shirley Metcalf. The Treasurer’s report was given and accepted. $135 in dues has been collected thus far leaving a balance of $182.83.

The minutes of the last meeting (Fitzsimons’) were read and approved.

A copy of the October 2004 and November 2003 web sites with photographs were passed around for those who did not visit our great web-site created and kept current by our own Dave Bray.

Old business:

There was no old business.

New business:

Sunday, December 12, 2004, Shirley & Bob Metcalf will host the Christmas meeting at 5 PM. Spiral Ham will be the Christmas feast. Shirley asked Bob Meyer to be in charge of the rules for the “Christmas ornament exchange”; Bob Meyer accepted the daunting task.

The caller for this meeting will be Shirley Metcalf.

The January meeting will be hosted by Heather & Russ Nelson with their very own cross-country & snowshoe trails, with the date to be announced, possibly Sunday, January 16, 2005.

February 4th through the 6th, 2005, LaPetite Rouge trip. The rooms are filled up this year, it should be a great trip as it always is.

Thanks to Joanne & Dick Partch for their hospitality as hosts tonight and for getting such a bargain on the turkeys in Rochester for $0.19 per pound for the beautiful golden birds.

Whiteface Mountain opened today, November 20, 2004 with Upper and Lower Valley operating.

Snowshoeing in the moonlight was brought up by Joe Fitzsimons with the moonlight expert, Joanne Partch, knowingly, highlighting the clear moonlit nights in January, February and March, to dictate the exact dates. A great howling approval was given by all. Sites for the event were discussed to include the Nelson’s & the Fitzsimons’.

Shirley & Dick Beane are sending a fruit basket to the Metcalf’s home, to arrive on or before the December 12, 2004 Christmas meeting.

Joan LaComb discussed the charities for this year. Shirley Metcalf reminded all that last year the Potsdam Aprčs’ Ski Club gave $50.00 to Hospice and $50.00 to the Potsdam Holiday Fund. Joe Fitzsimons moved that we continue the donations. Paul McGrath seconded the motion with a unanimous approval from the club. Bob Meyer said we might as well get publicity for the club since we were donating the money and have it timely for the holiday time frame. Arrangement will be made by Shirley Metcalf for the presentations.

Marta Szoke & Gabor Forgacs will be in Mt. Tremblant this following weekend. Gabor volunteered to glean information with room and skiing rates for the President’s weekend on February 19, 20 & 21. A tentative schedule would be an arrival on Friday, February 18, then downhill, cross-country or snow-shoe on February 19, 20 & 21, 2005. This trip takes about 3 ˝ hours depending on road and weather conditions. Directions will be provided to all interested.

Thanks to the callers, Joan LaComb and Sue Meyer.

Respectfully submitted,
Bob Metcalf.
