Minutes of the Business Meeting

Potsdam Apres Ski Club
Saturday, May 5, 2007
Hosts: Susan and Bob Meyer

Attendees were:
Tellie & Dave Bray, Doris & Ron Frazer, Sue & Bob Gibbs, Carolyn & Gene Kaczka, Trish & Bill Lewis, Judy Lowell, Joan & Paul McGrath, Shirley & Bob Metcalf, Susan & Bob Meyer, Heather & Russ Nelson, Joanne & Dick Partch, Buckley Riggs, Louise Straub

The Derby Day meeting was a smashing success! The dress was casual with hats. What a wonderful variety of hats there were! Paul McGrath looked like a professional gambler and did a great job of handling all the gambling transactions. As always the food was wonderful. Sue and Bob’s beef was tender and delicious surrounded by a large variety of side dishes and deserts. The race was exciting as always, especially on the Meyer’s new big screen TV.

The big winner of the Derby Day was Sue Meyer, who generously donated half of her winnings to pay for the wonderful BBQ beef brisket (Texas style) that she made for the event. The person who lost the most money was Shirley Metcalf. Hey, that is what you get for gambling big.

Treasurer Report:
We have a balance of $240.92. We have a little extra money because Trish got a great deal on the Thanksgiving Turkey and I got an outstanding price for the Christmas spiral ham, and Dick did not do the lamb this year. And Sue and Bob Meyer did not charge us for their main dish. At the September meeting we will discuss dues.

A full report of the treasurer is always available for your perusal in the Green Book where we also print out the web site pages done by Dave. A big round of applause was given to Dave Bray for doing such a GREAT job as our web master.

Old Business:
The Metcalf’s again stated how much they have enjoyed their three years as the club officers. However, it is time for everyone in the club to start thinking about who will take over the Presidency, since this is supposed to be their last year.

New Business:
Louise Straub was present and everyone welcomed her back in good health.

No meeting in June or July.

Dick and Joanne Partch will host our summer meeting on August 18th at 2:00 pm. Joanne has agreed to do the calling for this meeting. Dick will either do grilling or a lamb, his choice.

Bob and Sue Gibbs will host the meeting on September 15th and Sue will do the calling for this meeting.

October, Thanksgiving and Christmas are open to be claimed, it is so much fun to invite our wonderful group into your home. The best part is they bring their own food and drink.

A big thank you, and a round of applause was given for Sue and Bob Meyer for hosting, and to Sue who did all the calling for this meeting.

There was a motion, and a second to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
Bob and Shirley Metcalf
