Minutes of the Business Meeting

Potsdam Apres Ski Club
Sunday, March 11, 2007
Hosts: Jutta and Joe Fitzsimons

Attendees were:
Dave Anderson, Tellie & Dave Bray, Jutta & Joe Fitzsimons, Karen & Tom Fuhr, Judy Lowell, Dorothy & Bill Mein, Shirley & Bob Metcalf, Susan & Bob Meyer, Buckley Riggs. New members present were: Lorraine & Warren Harman & Bob Hardy.

The Treasurer Report:

We have a balance of $240.92. We have a little more money because Trish got a great deal on the Thanksgiving Turkey and I got an outstanding price for the Christmas spiral ham, and Dick did not do the lamb this year.

As you know, the club donated $50.00 to the Holiday Fund. Future expected expenses are for the main course for Derby Day and Lamb or meat for summer picnic, and another possible donation to be discussed tonight under new business. A full report of the treasurer is always available for your perusal in the Green Book where we also print out the web site that Dave works does such a GREAT job on. We are indeed lucky to have our own web master.

Old Business:

The Metcalf’s stated how much they have enjoyed their 3 years as the club officers but now is the time for everyone in the club to start thinking about who will take over the Presidency, since this is their last year.

Bob Meyer gave a report on the LaPetite Rouge cross country trip that was held February 2 through 4, 2007. A full report is on the web site.

The Smuggler's Notch (Burlington Vermont) trip was on January 26, 27 and 28, Dick and Joanne had to cancel but the Metcalf’s and Fitzsimons’ enjoyed skiing, shopping and dining. Next year we are hoping to attract more members.

New Business:

Everyone signed a get well card for Louise Straub.

Any suggestions for who should become our next officers?

The President stated that the reason you suggested we raise the dues from $10 to $15 was because that particular year we did not have enough money to pay expenses. We did not raise the dues in order to donate money. However, since Dick did not do the Lamb last year we now have a surplus. There was a discussion on if we should donate money to a worthy organization. Shirley suggested we might also go back to $10 dues. The discussion led to tabling the decision for the next officers.

The Derby Day Meeting will be held on May 5th at Sue and Bob Meyer is at 5:00 pm Sue and Bob will do a main course of BBQ beef brisket, Texas style! The dress is casual with a hat. Sue Meyer will be the caller for this meeting.

No meeting in June or July

Dick and Joanne Partch agreed to host our summer meeting in August, date will be announced later.

We need someone to host the September meeting which should be the first meeting for our new officers, who would like to host the September meeting? In fact, if you know that you would like to host October, Thanksgiving or Christmas this year you can put your name in now. This will save our new officers the work of lining it up.

A big thank you and a round of applause for Joe and Jutta for hosting tonight. Jutta and Shirley did the calling. A motion and a second was made to adjourn the meeting.

Respectfully submitted
Bob and Shirley Metcalf
