Meeting Hosts: Bob and Sue Gibbs

The March Ski Club meeting was held at the home of Bob and Sue Gibbs. In determining who was there, your secretary had to rely on the old adage "if you opened your mouth, you were there". (In other words, she forgot to write down who all was there.)

The minutes were read, and the Thorps made a correction - they too went skiing at the Nelson's in January! Bob Burns noted that it gets worse as you get older when Bob Meyer said something about faulty memory.

The treasurer's report was short - same as last time.

At that point, discussion turned to the Petite Rouge trip. It was wonderful. The Meins, Gibbs, Thorps, Metcalfs, Meyers, and Buckley went, and everyone came back healthy. No injuries, but there were 2 ½ broken poles. The snow was great and it wasn't too cold. There's a new trail which should be completed by next year. We filled 3 cabins and found that dinner was earlier on Saturday than it has been. The ice bridge was solid this year, as opposed to last year, when Sue Gibbs made Bob get out to see if the puddle at the "off ramp" went all the way through. (Sue, what were you going to do if it did? You were already on the ice!)

The Gibbs were thanked for their hospitality and Heather was thanked for calling. Happy Birthday wishes were extended to Dave and Tellie (Dave's was the 23rd and Tellie's the 19th.

In other business, Bob Burns suggested that the group institute an "Automotive Design Prize". There's a car that is obviously in the process of redesign in the driveway. It's a red Saab that looks like the Deer Control Model. At this point, Bob Meyer noted that the current score is Deer 3, Car 0. The award was most graciously accepted and deposited in the proper place.

The next meting will be at the Mein's on April 15, and Derby Day will be on May 6.

Respectfully Submitted Susan Meyer
